200208 NEW BRAKES ON THE E-BIKE 7598km

Since my last big renovation of the bike it has been running very smooth.
I hardly havent done anything for a year now. Nice!!!
Still the bike has don 7598kms now!!

I ride my home built fast E-bike in the summer so this one had quite a relaxed summer :-)

The only thing that makes me a little bit irritaded nowadays are the brakes....
Every week I have to adjust the shitty wire-discbrakes.  Completely worthless!!!!
This is how the handles looks at the end of the week....

Zero braking power.......

Because of that I ordered hydraulic brakes on Ali express. XOD brakes.
They are now mounted on the bike and they are fantastic!!!!
Right connections and amazing power!!!
Looking forward to test them over time!!

They were only possible to order:
Right=front
Left=Rear.

I didnt like that so I reconnected them.

Left=Front
Right=Rear.

Hopefullt I can enjoy riding instead of setting the brakes :-)

190319 COMPLETELY WORN OUT......4749KM

Here we go again :-(
The winter went just fine.
I tried the bike during the toughest conditions with very good result.
Spiked tyres did the job!!

Now the spring is coming and my plan was to make a big service when i reached 5000km.
I never got to 5000.......
I thought the rear tyre was a little bit soft but it was not the tire, it was the rim :-(

Unbelivable!!!!!
The rim was complete wasted.....
The rim was split in the joint and the spokes almost jumped out of the worn holes.....

The rim also had cracks in almost every spoke-hole.
I had to make my big service a little bit earlier than planned.
After some searching I found a new rim at ROSE BIKE.

Specially designed for E-bikes...... my ass it is!!!!
I had to drill up all spoke-holes from 4,5 to 4,9mm to make it possible to fit the spoke nipples.

It took 4 hours to replace the rim. I changed the rear sprockets at the same time :-)
I changed the chain and the derallieur as well :-)

I also changed the cover for the front brake wire, new breaking pads front and rear, new pedals new tires and some reflexes in the wheels.

After this I tried the bike and i was just flying :-)

181126 WINTER IS COMING 3209km

The winter is now starting to enter Sweden......
This means spiked tyres. After some searching I found Suomi Tyres on the internet.
I paid 400Sek each. Today I made the first ride. Worked just fine!!
The temperature today was close to -5 degrees.
Now I am ready!!!

Still not a sound from cyclotricity about my water filled display.....
Some days I cant see anything but some days it looks really bad :-(
I will try to contact the Swedish retailer as well......

181112 BREAKDOWN NR 5, 2886km

And now it happened again :-(
On my way home from work I suddenly started to get this strange feeling when pedaling......
yepp, now the right side had come loose......
I had to use the throttle the last 10 kilometers. Without the throttle I would have been f-cked.
Back home I took it apart and assembled it again with loctite on both the shaft and the screw. Hopefully it will last longer now.

It makes me a little bit angry that the problems I have is related to bad assembly and not bad quality of the mechanical bits and pieces...
It would have been so easy to avoid problems like this!!!
Another problem that I discovered the other day is that the display has water on the inside :-(
I have sent a mail to Cyclotricity. Lets see what happens about that?

Except for all the breakdowns I love my bike :-)
I have now done more than 3000km which is nice. Soon it is paid off :-)

181005 Breakdown nr 4 2000km

Now Everything has been working just fine for almost 1000km!!!
When the bike is working it is wonderful :-)
The bad thing is that this is not always the case..........
Now I suddenly had a couple of bad days again :-(
When going to work on Friday the pedal + arm came loose. I had to go to work with the throttle only.
Due to heavy winds I had to slow down to save battery. It took me 20 minutes extra!!!
This is the 4th time this happens!!! Now I have used loctite both on the shaft and the screw. Hopefully it will be ok now?

This was on Friday. When going to work on Monday this happened......

My mother was kind to help me. I had a big snake bite :-( My fault......
Now I bought new stuff at Biltema. Extra strong tyre. We will see ;-)

A-N-D I got my new lamp :-)
The light is fantastic!!!
10 dollar!! Perfect!!

Now it is alive again :-)

During the last weeks the bike has been wonderful.
It has been running without any problems. Nice :-)
I have been a little bit irritated over the steering bar. It is too low......
After some searching on the internet i found an extender for the steering bar :-)

10 dollar, Easy to fit and now the bike fits me perfect!!

180904 BREAKDOWN NR3, 1048km

Yesterday I finally got my thumb throttle from the dealer. It "only" took 3 months.........
Luckily I put it on when I got it!

Today when going to work the pedal+arm fell off......
UNBELIVABLE......again. How the h-ll have they mounted this bike?

I managed to go with throttle the last 10km to work.
I then tightened it at work but before coming home it was loose again?!?!?
It is clear that it has been loose for a while :-( Look at the contact surfaces....
I have now tightened it like h-ll and added Loctite as well.
Hopefully it will not break again.......

I also had a look at the front brake. This one stopped to work at around 900km.
I ordered new pads and changed them today. When I did that I noticed that the old was ones were good?
Strange!! There was zero breakingforce....

Lets see tomorrow if its working ok now with new pads.....
